Prasada means ?grace? in the Sanskrit language. From a spirit of grace comes
beauty and understanding, graditude and growth.
Prasada Jewelry was born when Allison Gemmel, founder and designer, decided
to make herself a necklace. Inspired by the significance of the spiral in many cultures
as well as its personal meaning to her, she created a silver spiral out of brushed
tin and strung it on black cord. She received so many inquiries about the necklace
that she began making them for others.
This work grew out of creative passion and is now available to you on the web. Every
piece is designed and hand-crafted with intention by Allison. Many materials come
from a tribal community in Thailand, supporting the economy of a people with few constructive
options for sustenance.
Beyond Prasada, Allison is a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga teacher who drums
with the African ensemble KDZ: The Drummers at Kripalu. She leads yoga and drumming
workshops, manages yoga teachers at Kripalu Center, and currently resides in the Berkshire
mountains of western Massachusetts with her partner, Shaun, and their friendly feline,
Mr. Fuzzy Pants.
Allison?s mission is to spread positive energy, raise consciousness, and promote well-being
of body, mind and soul through yoga, drumming, and jewelry created to inspire.
Every piece comes with a card describing the symbols and significance of the design
and materials used.
